On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, Options celebrated the graduating class of 2023 at our annual graduation ceremony. The Options staff served 47 seniors during this school year. Seven of our seniors chose to graduate early. That choice provided an opportunity such as joining the Marines or starting an apprenticeship for a trade. Other seniors chose different pathways to complete their high school graduation requirements. We had seven individuals who went to a University Campus for courses. These seven individuals earned a total of 106 credits towards their bachelors degrees. We also had 13 seniors who attended a technical college. These seniors came away with 222 credits to support their future career. Those credits included four students who had a technical college certificate and three students who completed their technical diploma. All are well on their way to completing an Associate Degree. We are here to celebrate all of our graduating seniors. No matter where your life path takes you Boot camp, a new career, technical college, or university, please know that we at Options Virtual Charter School are proud to have been a part of your last year in high school. We enjoyed working with you and expect great things for your future. Congratulations class of 2023! We are so proud of you and wish you the best of luck!

Options 4K/K classroom has been studying, and following, the Chick Life Cycle for the last 21 days. Students in class had the opportunity to “candle” the eggs and see how the chicks grow over time, see chicks hatching out of their eggs, and watch throughout the day to see how many more chicks had hatched. The total number of chicks to hatch at school was 14! The chicks went home to be raised with the Vanveghel family .
A big "THANK-YOU" to the Vanveghel's for bringing in the eggs, incubator, and letting our students watch over the eggs until they hatched. What an amazing experience it was for all of the kids!
On Wednesday, May 17th, UW Whitewater held a reception for the students whose paper were selected to be published in the 2023 Southern Lakes Anthology book “One In A Million”. Congratulations to Options 4th grade student Rya Olson for her piece on Adoption. Congratulations to Rya and all the students who had a piece selected to be published!
The Southern Lakes Anthology is an opportunity for all students in grades 3 – 8 to submit a piece of work in one of the following categories: Prose, Poetry, Art, Cartoon, Expository Writing, and Illustrated Writing for possible publication. Students were asked to relate their work to this year’s theme – One in a Million.
Entry submissions were first judged at the school level in December. Then all the entries were judged at the district level to determine the strongest pieces to submit for regional consideration. These entries were judged on clarity of message, creativity, quality, technical skill, and presentation.
Congratulations to Rya and all the students who had a piece selected to be published!
