Craig Amann, a senior at Options Virtual Charter school, is also participating in the Start College Now program through Gateway Technical College. Craig will graduate high school with 16 college credits and has earned a Security Professional Certification. His goal after graduation is to attend Gateway Technical College to earn an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice so that he can become a Law Enforcement Officer. Craig also was awarded the Gateway Promise Scholarship. Through the Gateway Promise program, eligible high school seniors can attend Gateway tuition-free. The program helps fill the gap between financial aid and the cost of Gateway’s tuition and fees for students who meet eligibility requirements. Promise students also receive additional support, like one-on-one coaching and a summer Scholars program, to help them achieve their future career goals.
We are very proud of the hard work that Craig has put in to achieve his goals! Congratulations Craig!

Our 4K / K Options class had their Tea Party on Wednesday, May 10th. Planning the party was a collaborative effort with each student helping to decide what the invitations would look like, what to serve, and the colors they wanted to decorate with.
Each student made a placemat for their table setting, arranged flowers, prepared the food that was to be served, and set the tables.
When their special guest arrived, each student escorted them to their seat, took their order and served the food. The kids had an AMAZING time and so did their guest!
Thank you Mrs. Dahl and Mrs. Loth for helping your class put on such an amazing event!
More Photos will be added to our Options FB page and the 4K/5K FB page

Yesterday we announced that EASD had been awarded the first #EnergyCLASSPrize through the US Department of Energy - we’re one of only 25 school districts in the nation to receive this award. Going forward, our team of Energized Elks staff and students will receive training from @energygov to identify, plan, and implement critical upgrades in our school facilities.
What does that look like in EASD? Prioritizing rehabilitating our historic buildings, reducing our carbon footprint, exploring alternative energy sources sensitive to the protected marsh and wildlife area between the Middle School and High School grounds, improving air quality and learning environments districtwide, and reshaping our ongoing Capital Improvement Plan model.
As part of the American-Made Program, this @energygov prize provides funding to 25 of the nation’s schools to support critical clean energy infrastructure and health improvements. Better facilities pave the way for better learning environments and better educational outcomes. Elkhorn will serve as an example for rural districts throughout the country.
