The music students performed at our District Solo & Ensemble Festival this weekend and had a very successful day! There were 20 vocal solos, 9 instrumental solos, and 8 instrumental ensembles that advanced to the State level! Some of our students were involved in multiple performances that advanced to State.
These students will all compete at UW-Whitewater on April 27th for State Solo & Ensemble. Pictures attached of our students who advanced (minus a few who did not make it down for the photo).
Help us congratulate them if you see them!

The money raised will support EAST's mission of providing support, education, and resources while increasing understanding of Autism for students, school staff, families, and the community. These supports include posting monthly tips for staff members to reference, problem-solving and collaborating with staff about the needs of specific students, and developing professional development for teachers, staff, and the community.

This past fall 4 of our students applied for 'Technicians of Tomorrow' an elite automotive competition in Southeastern Wisconsin. The tomorrow competition pits the top high school automotive technology students against one another in a written and hands-on skills competition. The best of the best high school students compete for prizes including tools and technical college scholarships.
Two of our scores were high enough to qualify for the in-person competition which was held last Friday at the Milwaukee Auto Show. Of the 14 schools which applied only 8 were accepted. All winter, Alyssa A and Silas O studied under our dealership sponsor Kunes and Wilde Subaru and on Friday put their hard work to the test in a rigorous all day competition.
Their hard work paid off. I am so proud to announce Elkhorn took 2nd in this competition, bringing home a trophy, scholarships worth $2000 each, tools and equipment for themselves and our school worth a combined $6000+.
Alyssa and Silas went above and beyond, they received multiple compliments from judges and other dealer sponsors of their professionalism and commitment to the program. Alyssa was the only girl to compete in the event, an incredible accomplishment.
This was our first time participating in this competition and these students were determined to bring home a win. If you see Alyssa or Silas please congratulate them as this was a massive accomplishment for both them and our program.
We look forward to hopefully competing again next year and couldn't have done it without the help of our Kunes mentors, John O'Brien and Justin Hoffman.
